Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a procedure which lightens the natural tooth surface and helps to remove stains and discolouration.
Also known as professional bleaching, tooth whitening should always be carried out by a dental professional registered with the General Dental Council.
Your dental care professional will have to assess whether you are suitable for bleaching. This can be due to a number of reasons including:
• Gum health
• Sensitivity
• Placement of white fillings, crowns & bridges - bleaching will only lighten up the patients natural tooth surface, therefore, any fillings etc may have to be replaced once the desired bleaching shade has been achieved
Our bleaching consists of a tray based system, worn at home by the patient. 2 appointments are normally necessary – the first for impressions, and the second (a week later) to have the trays fitted and instruction on how to achieve the best results from your bleaching kit.
